LEDs Light Therapy
Introduction
Led light therapy improves sun damaged and aged skin. It uses low intensity light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in a process similar to photosynthesis in which plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into cellular building blocks.
The light stimulates production of collagen and elastin, and suppresses collagenase, the enzyme that breaks down collagen and accelerates aging.
This whole LED lights therapy process results in skin that appears more youthfull, smoother, healthier and more radiant.
Protocols
LED light therapy has shown to be effective for the treatment of several aspects of the skin ageing. Multiple studies have demonstrated improvement of fine wrinkles, mottled hyperpigmentation, tactile roughness and sallowness. These results are supported by both collagen production and increase proliferation.
Red light (650- 730 nm): Will stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen is an essential protein used to repair damaged tissue and to replace old tissue. Best for fine lines, and will also help to reduce large pores.
Blue light (430 - 450nm): Bacteria in acne contain Porphyrins; the blue light is able to kill Porphyrins due to the high affinity with this wavelenght. The blue light furthermore has a calming action which is very effective for hypersensitivity.
Yellow light (560 – 590nm): Yellow is a warm colour that can stimulate both the lymphatic and the nervous system; It is used to tone muscles and to boost your immune system and furthermore, helps to relax and restore the balance of the skins sensitivity.
Green light (525-550nm):The balance of the green light can balance color pigment,reduce fine lines,nutrient aging skin,speed up the healing process of the wound,and lighten the scare.
Treatments with LED light therapy for aging are progressive, with more correction after each treatment. Although results vary, most patients report noticeable change after 5 treatments.
The treatment has no side effect, there is no pain and you immediately return to your normal routine.
